Turning one is a big moment, the first year is a huge learning curve, getting to know this new little person is your life. Whether its your first or sixth it seems momentous. I had the huge honour of photography Jesse’s newborn photography shoot, as well as his sister’s newborn photography shoot and first birthday photography. And a maternity photography shoot before it all started with their mum and dad, so a shoot with them is pretty special as I consider them friends now.
First birthday shoots might be a cake smash, a beautiful fine art studio shoot, but they can also be fun outdoors as a family. Jesse is just not a cake kind of baby, due to allergies, so they wanted to head outside. The weather couldn’t have been better! We had planned their shoot on location, the day before I headed to a new location with a group of photographers, it was so pretty I had to change location for them too. And we all agreed it was a pretty perfect setting.
Of course when you are one and have a three year old sister, she definitely wants to be centrestage, it was perfect and their characters definitely came out. Thank you so much for making me be part of your memories again
