Let’s start at the beginning. I love telling your story from the beginning before baby arrives, the moment of quiet before life changes forever, celebrating that amazing journey. If its your first baby, or you already have children but didn’t do a maternity session before you understandably have questions, so I’m hoping this blog of maternity photography questions helps!
My maternity photography sessions can happen at any point during your pregnancy but I usually recommend between 26 and 36 weeks.
I actually have a big range of dresses at the studio you are welcome to use, so you don’t have to bring any yourself, but some of my mum’s to be have special underwear or outfits they like to bring along too.
That’s your choice, whilst most of my mum’s to be opt for the comfort of my studio, where you can change outfits, I do also adore outdoor sessions, especially in golden evening light. You can of course also have relaxed lifestyle sessions at your own home too.
This is totally up to you, some of my mum’s to be want to show off their whole bump in its natural state whilst others prefer to be more modest. And both are absolutely fine.
Yes definitely, I love having the rest of your family join in, but equally lots of my mum’s want the session to just be about their bump so you can come on your own too.
Lots of my dads opt for classic shirt and jeans or casual trousers, but of course this is personal. I suggest something in a neutral colour without branding.
Yes all my images are edited, I shoot everything raw so its part of processing the images but how much retouching you have done it up to you. If you have marks or things you would rather not appear in your photos please do share with me and I can retouch as much or as little as you wish.
I don’t include hair and makeup I can recommend people locally but most of my mum’s arrange this if they wish before the session.
Usually the sessions last around 45mins -1 hour.

After the session I will edit your photographs and you have lots of options from digitals to prints and wall art or albums. Then of course next comes your newborn photography session
I am currently running a very special offer for January or February when you book a maternity photography session with your newborn photography sessions. Head to contact me for more details
